DeepL and who is Weglot, please?

In an increasingly globalized world, multilingual communication is essential. As an entrepreneur and content creator, I understand the importance of making my content accessible to a broad, international audience. Here I share my experience with tools that meet this challenge: DeepL and Weglot.

My current requirement started with a very simple task: to translate a complete PowerPoint presentation of just under 20 MB into another language. We now all use ChatGPT and Copilot for translation tasks.

First test, of course, the PowerPoint integrated version: Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365:

Somewhat disappointingly, the Copilot only provided me with the menu item with which I could translate individual texts, which is not much fun with 60 pages.

Second attempt of course: ChatGPT

ChatGPT only offered me to translate individual pages in both the Plus and Team versions, which is also not the last word in wisdom. The third I tested various AI tools to find the best solution. Microsoft 365 Copilot and ChatGPT were my first ports of call, but they couldn't give me the desired result.

Third attempt: DeepL

The translation tool from Cologne, the absolute game changer here. For just €7 per month, DeepL translates my entire presentation quickly, accurately and effortlessly. DeepL is installed as an app on my Macbook and the 20 MB PowerPoint is translated completely and without graphical formatting errors in just a few minutes. The first month can be tried free of charge.

Why does DeepL share space with my website in the title image of the article?

The DeepL API is used by many partners for translations, a very ingenious translation service provider is the French provider Weglot, which I use for my website. Every new blog post I publish is automatically translated into all the desired languages. The speed and accuracy of the translation is impressive, although of course it doesn't quite reach the level of a native speaker. But the immediate availability and quality of the translation are unbeatable for the price.

When it comes to translation, DeepL is currently hard to beat. This tool is not only efficient and cost-effective, but also user-friendly and easy to integrate. For anyone who wants to expand their digital presence on the global market, DeepL or Weglot are indispensable tools.
